Green Factory Seal Recognition
The Bahrain “Green Factory Seal” is a Ministry of Industry and Commerce initiative awarding certification to factories adopting sustainable, low-emission practices. It supports the Industrial Sector Strategy (2022–2026) and the Kingdom's 2060 net-zero goals, rewarding over 40+ factories with incentives for eco-friendly operations, such as waste reduction and renewable energy usage.
Key Aspects of the Green Factory Seal
Purpose: To promote environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards, reduce emissions, and encourage a circular carbon economy in the industrial sector.
Eligibility & Criteria: Licensed factories that meet specific criteria, such as reusing 10% of industrial waste, using 10% renewable energy, or having carbon capture units.
Benefits: Recipients receive incentives including easier access to financing, enhanced export opportunities, and capacity building.
Partnerships: The initiative collaborates with entities like Export Bahrain, NBB, and BIBF to support certified factories
